peer pressured by my students to make TikTok’s xxxx

These make me prooooouuuuud 🥹💖🥹💖

a busy day for meeee today! Ending with a trip to the theatre to see some of my students SHIIIIIINE ✨

xxx

I only figured this out after years of struggling with it - I spent so much time rehearsing the potential failures instead of the actual story, I almost forgot I was on that stage because I LOVE it. 🤪💖

Like I say in the post - there’s no miracle fix or permanent cure for a busy brain, but I have a solid set of tools that I’ve sharpened over the years, that I genuinely could not be happier to pass on to (hopefully) be useful to my students. ✨✨✨

the many giggles of @its_allaboutizzy 🤣🧡

when we weren’t laughing, we were filming a little spotlight refresh - and she smashed it, as always!!! x

✨ DM me @coachingwithlucymay if you’d like to get in front of the camera! We can film stuff for your socials, or maybe your spotlight clips could do with a little update (young performers who won’t stop growing I’m looking at you 👀)

we can work on the material beforehand, or come ready & we’ll tweak it as we go, all with zero pressure in my little studio in Margate ✨

…PHEW 😮‍💨

jokes aside, I am ALWAYS striving to be a better teacher, I always want you to leave feeling good, feeling like you have something to work on, feeling like you made a leap (however big or small!)

I feel so proud when I receive these, you’re all truly amazing and I am so lucky to be a tiny part of your performing life!

🧡🧡🧡

Forever proud of all of my students and LOVE watching them all grow, succeed, achieve ✨✨✨

I LOVED teaching this group from @chhsmusical (and meeting their lovely teachers) - they came all the way from Canada, and they fund their travels & theatre trips all by themselves - by putting on shows! HOW COOL IS THAT? 🇨🇦

Delivering workshops for @westendondemand always leaves me super inspired - the students & groups I teach are always so passionate about theatre, they are in the room cos they LOVE IT, and I always leave fired up and excited about the next generation of theatre kids 🥹

✨✨✨

self-tape sensation @daisyyy.lehman bringing gorgeous genuine storytelling, heart, warmth and fun to her first ever tape! You were BRILLIANT 🧡

so exciting to see this new generation of talent get behind the camera with such ease & professionalism, and just take it all in their stride! ✨✨✨

SUPER PROUD 🫶🏼

📢: GETTING BETTER AT STUFF SHOULD BE FUN (and deffo shouldn’t feel like a punishment, or be something you dread)

if this sounds like the sort of learning environment you or your young performer need, DM me to book in your first half hour session at ✨ £25 ✨

100% would recommend getting lovely people to write lovely things about you!!! 🥲🥲🥲

I am so proud to make even just a small difference to this younger generation of performers - I was so lucky to have so many positive influences and teachers around me when I was starting out so I aim to be the same.

There is a LOT of negativity in this industry, a lot of bitterness (sad but true ❤️‍🩹) and making sure my students know how to handle that if they recieve it is another thing I try to prepare them for. The industry is SO special - it should be filled with people who LOVE IT 💖

DM me if this sounds like the sort of coaching you want - supportive, silly & incredibly serious about making sure you enjoy it!

✨✨✨

PROUD DOESN’T COVER IT! I didn’t manage to get loads of clips cos I was in the wings trying to enjoy watching it live (and crying, obvs) but the LA family has my heart!!! 💜

I’ve taught at LA since 2021, and they’ve always supported me when I’ve popped off to do a show for a while, and welcomed me back with open arms, which means so much to me ✨

I’ve been lucky enough to watch lots of my students there grow up, and they are everything I love about teaching - funny, cheeky, clever, caring, silly, brave, supportive & so so creative. I always look forward to whatever craziness they will bring to me, cos they know I’ll always go with it 🤣

Lots of people on stage for the first time this weekend, lots singing solos for the first time, wearing a mic for the first time… it’s easy for those things to become ordinary when you perform professionally, but to see them experience all of these things for the first time takes me back to how magic it felt… and I feel so lucky that after all these years, it still feels magic - now more than ever, actually!

So proud of you all, and I’m so so proud to be one of your teachers 💜💜💜 LA 4EVA 💜💜💜

deffo had a big cry making this, about little me doing all of that - didn’t have a clue, just a big voice, a big dream, and hugely supportive parents (love you) 😭

have always struggled with talking about myself & my achievements online, but recently decided to take the advice I’d been dishing out to students: go for it, what have you got to lose by putting yourself out there?

learn from me, my mistakes, my successes, my love for it all and my years hyper-focussing on every single detail to make myself, and therefore you, BETTER 😝

send the message, cos you truly never know where it will lead! ✨

DM me to book in your first half hour session for just ✨ £25 ✨
